Getting to Lighthouse Burnham

During Lighthouse week, walking access to the site will be from Stomp Road only. Please do not try and enter through Opendale Road at any time as you will be unable to get into Lighthouse Burnham Site.

Parking at Lighthouse Burnham

All vehicles will be directed to park on Burnham Park, with access from Priory Road, which is a short walk from the Lighthouse Burnham site. Only Blue Badge holders will be permitted to park on site.

We ask you to follow all directions given by the volunteer parking attendants to ensure the safety of all volunteers and children.

Please do not ty to drop off, or park outside the school, or any of the close by residential roads and be aware that local Police and Traffic Wardens will take action against anyone parking inconsiderately or illegally.

If you are able to, we suggest walking or cycling. There will be a secure ‘Cycle Park’ available for children’s bikes, you will, however, need to provide a lock.

Please vacate the car park as soon as you have dropped off or collected your child/ren, otherwise your vehicle may be locked in.

Start & Finish

Registration opens at 10:00am every morning. For those in the 4s age group, the day finishes at 12:45pm. For all other age groups, the day finishes at 3:30pm.

A responsible adult, 16 or over, will need to drop off and collect your child/ren each day.

Only volunteers’ children are allowed on site before 10:00am.     Unfortunately, this does not include volunteer siblings who will need to enter from 10am.

Please ensure you have the entrance and exit ticket for the appropriate day.  If you have forgotten the tickets you will need to go to the site office for a temporary pass as the Team Leaders will be unable to let the children leave without a valid ticket for the day.

Early Collection

If you need to collect your child/ren before the end of the day, please let the registration team know in the morning, or contact us at the earliest opportunity. To collect your child/ren come to the Site Office and present your collection ticket before 2.30pm and your child will be collected and brought to you.

For security & safety purposes it will not be possible to collect a child after this time until the end of Lighthouse at 3.30pm.

If Your Child is Unwell

Please don't send your child/ren if they are unwell. If your child is unwell whilst at Lighthouse  Burnham, we will contact you and request they be picked up.

Essential Items

All children need to bring a packed lunch (except those in the 4s age group), drink, sunhat and suitable footwear for games and being outside on grass. Please also provide your child with sun screen if appropriate.

To reduce the amount of plastic we use, please provide your children with a NAMED drink bottle which will be topped up with water throughout the day.

Nuts

Please do not include nuts as some children who attend can have severe allergic reactions.

Medication

You must inform the First Aid team of any health or medical matters affecting your child/ren at the start of the week.

The team will be at the registration desk on Monday morning and they will ask you to complete a medical form and together you can decide the best place for the medication to the stored, either with First Aid in the fridge, or with the child (or leader).

If your child requires an inhaler or EpiPen, please ensure that they are in date and have it with them – they will not be accepted on site without them.

Lost property

Please ensure all items brought to Lighthouse Burnham are clearly named.  If your child loses something during the week, please check the lost property table at Registration each day.

On Saturday 3rd August, between 11:00am – 1:00pm, all lost property will be out for final collection, after then it will either be disposed of or be given to a local charity shop as we have no facilities to store unclaimed items

Lighthouse Burnham do not accept any responsibility for lost or damaged items.

Your Lighthouse 2019 Handbook is available for you to read and download HERE and is also available via our Burnham Home Page.

It contains a wealth of information you'll need for Lighthouse Burnham 2019, so please do give it a read.  You may find parts useful during the Lighthouse week, so you'll find a copy with your Age Group Leader and in the Refreshment area.

Here's some information that would have been shared with you in your team meetings and training, however we have included it here as a reminder.  This can also be found via the EVENTS page

Please do take the time to read it as it is essential for the safety of the children, parents and volunteers:

  • You are at the heart of Lighthouse, and we couldn’t run without your help. Although we all have a great time, please remember we are primarily at Lighthouse to help the children have an awesome experience.
  • Please wear your red Lighthouse t-shirt every day. Lanyards and name badges must be around your neck and visible at all times when on site. Please don’t obscure your (or your children’s) names with stickers.
  • Volunteers car park is accessed via Stomp Road between 8am – 9am. If you need to leave site at any time outside of this hour you must let the site team know in the morning.
  • Youth will be unable to leave the site during the day, so please remember your lunch and a drink!

  • Porta loos are for the children. There are toilets for helpers in the school, however the changing rooms and all other rooms in the school are not to be used.
  • If you have any concerns at any time, please speak to your team leader. Alternatively, you can speak to Carol, Adam or any of the management team.
